PEP5 Unit5 My New Room
一.teaching goals:
1.master the direction words: in, on, under, near, behind. be able to listen, speak, read and write these words.
2.understand the words: over, in front of. recognize them.
3.master the sentences: “where is the …? it’s…”. use these sentences to communicate with others fluently.
二.key points:
1.master the direction words and use them correctly
2.communicate with others, asking “ where is the …? it’s… ”.. can express: there is an/a …on/behind….
三.teaching tools: cards; pictures; mirror and box.
四.procedure:
warm-up:
t: good morning boys and girls.
t: this is my room. what’s in the room? (teacher draws a room on the blackboard and asks ss to answer: there is/are…). come and look at my room.
t: what’s your room like? (teacher asks ss to introduce their bedrooms)
presentation:
1.t: in my room, there is a small box. where is the box? who can find it? (teacher draw a small box on the table) (ss answer: here/ it’s on the table)
teach the word “on”
2. t: look at our classroom. where is your pencil case? (ss: it’s on the desk.)
ask ss to make sentences: there is a/an… on the …
3.teacher brings out a box.
t: this is the box on the end table in my bedroom. where is it now? (ss: on the teacher’s desk.)
4.t: guess, what’s in the box?
5.teacher asks a student to open the box and see.
teach the word “in”
6.t: where is your pencil-case? where’s your pencil?
ask ss to make sentences: there’s an eraser in my pencil-case. …
7. teacher hides the mirror under the box. t: where is the mirror?
teach the word “under”.
7.teach “in front of”, “behind”, “near”, “over” in the same way.
8.let’s do: ask ss to put their pencils at different positions of their pencil-case. ask several ss to make the orders and others do it.
9.ask ss to tell what is in the classroom and where they are.
10.t: look at my room. where are all these things? (show a picture of a room.) (ss talk about it.)
11.t: open your books. ask and answer: “where is…? it’s…” according to the picture.
12.find the mistakes in “let’s find out.”
13.read the dialogue after the tape.

copy the new words.
introduce your bedroom to your friends.
